In the Tazlure Game System the belief that everything should be driven by the necessities of the plot is firmly embedded. We do not shy away from mature content, but nor do we partake in graphic violence for shock effect or pornography. It is a careful balance between wanting to concentrate on storytelling while not being too uptight regarding certain scenes.

However, that means your rating can still vary from family friendly to Adult. It is just a way of phrasing it. In the article below the explanation of Tazlure's rating of 14+, being a Dutch rating and not an American based on, is explained. You can adjust it to your needs.

This site is not for you if you are younger than 14 or of a strong (religious) conviction that might make you, your parents or your guardians object to our content. Profanity may be used IC with moderation. Descriptions of violence and sex may be explicit as long as they are in good taste and used with moderation. In principle no topic is off limit as long as it doesn't glorify certain crimes.

[edit] Rules of Thumb

• graphic violence should be the exception, not the rule. It is good to create an atmosphere of horror, but only if used sparingly. Leaving things up to the imagination is often more powerful.
• While darker themes have its place in the game's overall setting, it is not the dominant feature.
• Good taste is in the eye of beholder, yet we caution people not to use scenes or words sheerly for the shock value.
• sensual scenes (erotica) by moderators are allowed if they are functional in the plotline and are not an excuse "to write dirty" They should mark a move forward in the plotline, the highpoint of a romance for instance, or its deepest low. Or perhaps they provide an important clue. Players are allowed more leeway if they are committing player interaction (and thus do not add to the load of work of mods) yet are encouraged to keep up the same standards.
• sensual scenes often have more going on than just sensual skills. Information may be exchanged, characters might fight over control, magic is used etc. It is important not to be blinded by the mere fact there is sex involved.
• the writing in the sensual or violent scenes may be as explicit as the players involved are comfortable with. Please make every effort to check the comfortzone of the players involved by communicating about the scene OOC.
• All sexual orientations can be found in the setting without censure OOC (though there might be an IC reaction that is unfavourable. See Also Sexuality).
• Remember that the game is a Dutch site and so will adhere to Dutch and European norms and laws regarding the material that we allow our younger players to see. This means that the setting is advised for ages 14 and up. If some material makes you uncomfortable we advise you not to read it.

[edit] What Will not be Tolerated

• forcing sensual scenes upon players who have indicated IC or OOC that they do not wish the direction the plotline is taking any further. This does NOT mean a PC can avoid rape etc. if there are compelling realistic reasons for it but a player can request a tasteful fade to black instead of reading the details spelled out.
• glorification of rape, childabuse etc. Note that as long as it is described in a horror scene this may be going on in the game, but never in a permissive setting.
• excessive use of unoriginal descriptions of sex are not encouraged. There is no need to beat around the bush as long as you describe the act true and respectful.
• excessive use of blood and gore, senseless violence, overuse of dark themes that seem contrived etc.
• There are no forbidden words in the game and nothing that reeks of censorship. At all times use common sense. The list provided in the article about Erotica is a guide for moderators and should not be forced upon players unless necessary.
• A moderator is not required to provide soft or even hard porn at a players request, nor indeed graphic violence. Moderators too may have a comfortzone that warns players they will fade to black if the scene makes them uncomfortable.
