Comfortzones

The system of comfortzones has been designed to deal with romantic/sensual threads, so that people can indicate what they are comfortable or uncomfortable with without giving offense or disrupting a story. It is part of the anti-harressement clause of Tazlure's Terms of Service.

In the Tazlure Game System erotic scenes are allowed as long as they are functional in a plotline, or just between consenting PC's. Players are encouraged to stay away from scenes that cross their personal boundaries as rape and other excesses have been known to happen in some dramatic scenes, but only if the character did not walk away. Chosing a low comfortzone however is not a guarantee that no bad things will happen to your character. It will only influence how we write about it.

Because of the ready availability of erotics, comfortzones were necessary to deal with issues of age, gender and sexuality. Just because it is available does not mean it is a right. Moderators too may have their comfortzone, or judge certain scenes not functional to their setting. There are specific adult erotic RP sites that provide better opportunity if erotic is the only thing the player wants to write about.

Comfortzones do not regulate whether or not you are comfortable with content other than the traditional heterosexuality. This is something that should show in your writing. Homosexuality, bisexuality etc. do exists as do alternative lifestyles, but they do not play a large role in most storylines, with exceptions such as the history of Anochrim.

Gender bending is also a common thing in Tazlure. Gender bending is a RP term for women playing a male character (rather common) or men playing a female character (rare, but they are out there). In Tazlure's view that is an OOC aspect that should not feature in your writing but if you find it uncomfortable you can always check in PM first.

Comfortzones in fact do not stop any content (rape, graphic violence etc.). It only handles when you fade to black (or not at all).

[edit] The Specific Comfortzones

We have defined several groups that sketch how you feel about getting involved in sensual scenes.

Group A:
I am uncomfortable with any sex scenes no matter the other person's age.
I would not allow my PC to enter a potentially erotic scene regardless of the circumstances.

This means that any scene of your character will fade to black (aka skip that particular passage and mention it in the background only without specifics) when dealing with more than a kiss. Likely your character will avoid romantic entanglements and a moderator will not quickly offer them.

Group B:
I am somewhat uncomfortable with erotic scenes no matter the other person's age.
I might allow my PC to enter a potentially erotic scene depending on the circumstances.
I would prefer it fade to black before the clothes come off

This means that your character may write a scene in which there is kissing and a bit of fondling before fading the black. For instance Raven might hotly kiss Elisabeth and then carry her up to the bedroom. The next scene will be them waking up in the morning.

Group C:
I am somewhat uncomfortable with erotic scenes with persons not my own age.
I might allow my PC to enter a potentially erotic scene depending on the circumstances.
I would prefer it fade to black before the clothes come off

The same as above except that age would influence you in choosing who to write erotica with.

Group D:
I am somewhat comfortable with erotic scenes with persons my own age.
I would allow my PC to enter potentially erotic scenes
I prefer it fade to black sometime.

This means that if the mood is right and the scene intense you may write your character in an erotic scene without fading to black, with people your own age. Just not very frequently.

Group E:
I am somewhat comfortable with erotic scenes regardless of the other person's age.
I would allow my PC to enter potentially erotic scenes
I prefer it fade to black sometime.

Same as above regardless of age.

Group F:
I am comfortable with erotic scenes with persons my own age.
I would allow my PC to enter potentially erotic scenes
I let my GM fade to black or not.

You are a daring person and are into writing erotic scenes as they happen, with the mods comfortzone determining how explicit everything becomes. However you'd like to write with people your own age.

Group G:
I am comfortable with erotic scenes regardless of the other person's age.
I would allow my PC to enter potentially erotic scenes
I let my GM fade to black or not.

The same as above but regardless of age.

[edit] Comfortzones and Age

Listing a comfortzone also means listing your age along with the letter. This is because depending on your area having online sex with underaged writers may be illegal or at last potentially expose you to lawsuits, but also because some people would prefer to write erotica with people their own age. For some the limit is 18, others have it at 21 or even above 30. A personal choice.
